Two CONFEDERATE'S of Virginia, John H. (Henry) LEWIS and one of his brother George Washington LEWIS.

This is John H (Henry) LEWIS and one of his brother George Washington LEWIS, at the Cedar Grove cemetery, Portsmouth, Virginia. This ONE, of my GGGrandfth's was born in Portsmouth, VA-1835 and died at one of his daughter's homes in Washington DC 1917. He John, married a EMMERSON, and is buried in the EMMERSON, family plot there at Cedar Grove.

DC Confederates. Many confederate ended up in DC after the war.

Many confederates, came to Washington DC, from nearby Virginia and some Marylander's, who fought for the confederacy out of necessity.
