After reading the only book one of my GG Grandfather's a John H. (Henry) LEWIS b. 1835 in Portsmouth, VA, dec'd 1917 at one of his daughter's home's in Washington DC. I have become even more interested in the Confederate's in Washington DC, which are rarely mentioned, except that they were sometimes, imprisoned there and convicted or went their to petition the government of LINCOLN for clemency.

Hi sence i start the discussion forum have i notic that the topic about slavery is a hot, I think that many of the people don’t have forgott what has happen, the north and south is still in the war despite it is over 142 years that the war begin.

It’s said that people think that the war only was about the slavery, it was even a economics war.Look in the state in Mississippi how the black people live, I don’t think that the black people have the same finances like them have in New York, Mississippi is still many years after the rest of USA
